Walt Disney 

Biography
  • Born: Chicago, Illinois (5 December1901)
  • An American film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur, entertainer, international icon, and philanthropist.
  • The creator of Mickey Mouse
  • The founder of Disneyland  
  • Walt had three brothers and one sister. When Walt was five his family moved to Marceline Missouri. Later Walt would move back to Chicago.


Young Walt 



During world war 1, at age 16 he left school hoping to fight in World War 1, he went to France to work for the Red Cross but 
but was too young to enlist that why he lie about it age.

So he joined the Red Cross and went to France as an ambulance driver.  His ambulance was not covered in camouflage but instead was completely covered with Disney Cartoons!


On 13 July1925 Walt married one of his employees, Lillian Bounds.  Later they would be graced with two daughters, Diane and Sharon.




The early failed
  • He created and marketed first original animated cartoons "Newman's Laugh-O-Grams“ but it went bankrupt.

  • Started work on a new series "Alice Comedies“ but only can survive above 5 years before they lost popularity.

  • He started work on new animated character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit but again he been cheated and new animated character been stolen away from him. 

Early success 
Begin the ideas of animation cartoon Mickey mouse. At first the animation not success very well, but he make an ideas to added synchronized sound and it was immediately picked up. It became the first cartoon to use synchronized sound with Walt as the voice of Mickey. It premiered to great success.

Disneyland


Disneyland officially opened on 18 July 1955.  
It was a huge success.

17 July 1955, Disneyland hosted a live TV preview among the thousands of people in attendance to gain financial support


Walt’s speech:
     “To all who come to this happy place; welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age remembers memories of the past and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world”

Walt Disney produce many movies in  his lifetime. Walt was also producer of 576 different movie and cartoons, director of 101 different movie and cartoons, was an actor in nine movies, cartoons, television shows, and wrote one cartoon and one movie.


Award
Walt received over 950 honors in his lifetime. Including 48 academy awards and 7 Emmys, degrees from Harvard, Yale, the University of Southern California, and UCLA, the Showman of the World award and many others. In this picture he is receiving the presidents Medal of Freedom.

Walt Disney died of Acute circulatory collapse (lung cancer) on 15 December 1966. 

Disney was cremated on 17 December 1966 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California.
